This has to be our year!

I am a sad, sad human being! I have been sitting on my couch for the last few hours reading blog after blog after blog! I currently have tears streaming down my face as I just read a story of a woman who took a trip to El Salvador to visit her sponsored child. She is a mommy of two and took this trip and was able to meet the little 6 year old boy her family sponsors, it was incredibly touching. David and I hope one day to meet our sponsored children, we have a little boy in Uganda who turns ten this year and a little girl in India who is 9 (who hopefully we will get to meet next year!).

I find a lot of comfort in reading other peoples stories, everyone is so different and unique. Some people have both adopted and biological children, some have only biological and some only have adopted. The many many reasons people adopt is also fascinating, each story so beautiful and wonderful. Every time a match is turned into bringing a baby home I jump with joy and every time an adoption journey doesn't work out I cry for those families.

Knowing how much we want to grow our family through adoption makes these blogs my extended family, you could almost call me a stalker but every morning I check for updates to see how my blog families are doing. I don't know most of you by name, some of you may not even know I follow you but I have to say thank you for sharing your hearts!

David and I are hopeful this is our year! We are ready to bring a little one home and to fulfill our dream of having a family through adoption. Who knows what the future holds but for now we want to start with #1. Everyday I pop my head into the baby room and smile thinking that one day soon I will be walking in to calm a cry or change a diaper!

aw, I really liked this post. Thanks for sharing. We sponsor a girl in Uganda! She just turned 7 :) Wouldn't that be amazing to meet them?! Hoping you can! Of course having a baby would be an ok reason to not be able to go for awhile :) sending love
