We have been receiving all sorts of e-mails about parenting, stages of pregnancy etc...for months now. Today however, I received an e-mail specifically based on our BM due date. This made me smile and I yelled to David "man we should have bought a pineapple at the grocery store". He wasn't quite sure what I was talking about until I read him the following:
"This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood"
It's pretty amazing to think that not only is our baby already over 4lbs but we will be parents in approximately 6 weeks. SIX WEEKS! I realize I have posted the due date and this may be old news to you all but it's slowly sinking in. As we sit here on the couch being super lazy and eating our evening snacks (which we know we shouldn't be) I can't help but think how much different our lives will be in six short weeks. All for the better of course!
This past Monday we met with our possible future pediatrician, we asked her all the standard questions and generally just felt comfortable with her. I guess it's really hard to tell how well a practice/Dr will work with your child until they actually meet them. It is still great to have one more item crossed off our list :)
