Autumn update!

I guess what they say is true, as you get older time moves more quickly. Seriously where did this year go? Am I really already decorating for fall and planning for the holidays? I really cannot believe we started our DIA (domestic infant adoption) journey over a year ago, granted we were on "hold" for 5 months but still I don't know where the time goes. As the year dwindles away we are still hopeful that we will get our baby this year, we are just waiting for the call. Both David and I are ready, well as ready as you can ever be. I am sure at 3am when our little one is crying and I am calling my sisters for advice I won't feel so "ready" but for now we feel ready. Our entire adoption journey has had its ups and downs and we can't wait till we finally have a little one in our arms. It's a truly exciting time! We recently showed off the baby room to all our friends and some of our family it felt so good to see their reactions and to share our hard work with them :)

While we wait we have loads planned…we are celebrating 5 years of marriage October 3rd, wow, I guess time really does fly when you are having fun! We will be heading down to North Carolina Oct 10-11 for a family wedding; we are really looking forward to that. Also, Oct 14-18th we are heading to Pennsylvania to visit with family. We are very excited to get everyone together and to have some valuable time as a family since my sister Missy and her family are moving to India! You can read all about it on her blog which is linked to our page. When Missy told us of their plans to move I was really excited for them, I still am but have had varying stages of emotions. I have laughed, cried and almost hurled! I cannot begin to tell you all how excited we are for them, what an amazing opportunity for them and for the girls. Also, we will get the opportunity to visit India while they are there! Wow, that will be a once in a lifetime trip. We will get the chance to visit the orphanage that our nieces Alysha and Jaya were adopted from, we will also maybe get to meet Nagi who is a 10 year old girl we support through Good News India. It will be hard to not be able to just bring Nagi back with us! It's a really neat time for the whole family as we share in the joy of the Coopers new adventure.

In other news our best friend’s daughter Bella turns one today! Happy Birthday Bella (sorry I forgot a pressie it's on the way)!

For now I will sign of with what I think is an appropriate quote:

"Experience is not what happens to you; it is what you do with what happens to you."~ Aldous Huxley
