To say I have more than enough is an understatement. I don't blog as often as I would like, I wish I would though because I have so much I would love to have written to help me remember later on. Today I cannot help but write about how full my life is. This past weekend we didn’t do anything spectacular, we didn't go away or fill our time with visits to museums, zoos etc…(which we love to do!). However, due to both Juniper and I recovering from a yucky summer cold we simply hung out. Sometimes family time is the best medicine! Juniper continues to amaze me every day, she is such a bundle of joy and craziness all rolled up into her funny self. Even when she isn't feeling well she is laughing and playing her heart out. Yesterday to me was the perfect day. Juniper slept 7pm-8:30am, she woke up pointing at the stars on her ceiling calling for Mumma and Dadda…what a beautiful way for ME to be woken up seeing her sweet face on the monitor. She and I read books in her room for ages, I adore that my baby girl can spend an entire day looking through EVERY book she has and never get bored. After a while I said "are you hungry, do you want pancakes and milk?" to which she stretched her arms as far as she could to me to pick her up. We went downstairs and made pancakes and had breakfast, she talked my ear off. Granted I don't really understand all she is telling me right now but she sure has a lot to say!
We continued to play until Daddy got up and then hung out some more…around noon she was super sleepy so we put her down. She is pretty much on the one nap a day schedule which is great, some days she breaks it up into two but yesterday it was a one nap day. One looooong 3 hour nap! David and I were eager for her to get up so we could hang out some more. While she slept David made banana donuts and I made spinach and cheese pinwheels. When Juniper finally decided to wake up we quickly brought her downstairs and she was looking at all the freshly baked items with excitement! Much to David's dismay she preferred my pinwheels to his donuts, she is a bit of a savory girl. Although she does love chocolate! The afternoon continued to be much of the same as the morning, we did pop out to CVS and Kohl's but came back home quickly to hang out. We laughed and laughed and played hard. She has this new trick where she will hold her shirt in her mouth and smack her own belly and laugh! She also will dance like Elvis while playing with her music table…where do kids learn these things? Needless to say by the time we put her to bed my face hurt from smiling so much and I was feeling much better! David and I cooked up a lovely dinner and just talked and laughed at how lucky we are to have such a sweet little girl.
I am so grateful to have such a full life! I am VERY much looking forward to some much needed family time coming up. We are heading to TX in September and NC in November…we can't wait! We haven't even had visitors in ages so we are having withdrawals ;)
