When we woke up at my Dads house on Saturday the snow had not yet melted so we went down to the beach. It is not very often you see snow on the beach and get to make a snowman with sand, seashells and seaweed (my step-mom and niece took care of that). My sister also noticed a pod (yes I had to look that up) of dolphins, they were swimming up and down the shoreline and at one point were pretty close. It was awesome! We had a wonderful weekend with my family, my nieces are just so darn adorable, sweet and loving! They made it harder for me to say goodbye. I had some good time with my sis but not enough. I will miss them all more than words can say but I know that they are doing what they should be doing.
The drive home on Tuesday took as long as the trip down, we hit snow in CT so the last 100 miles took just about 3 hours. Once again we had a comfortable car with heated seats so that helped so much, we are now officially spoiled with nice cars!
So we are now home and facing reality. My house is a disaster and I am sick. This weekend I had so much planned to organize and clean out the rest of the house but here I am having barely enough energy to make breaky (I know wahh wahh wahh).
On the adoption front our homestudy renewal should just about be complete, I am going to call Dr. Laura on Monday to make sure she has everything she needs. We are so ready for something to happen, everyday I get more and more excited for the call. I have a feeling it's going to happen soon, it could just all be in my head but maybe not. I just pray it happens this year not only because we really want to begin our journey as a family but also the adoption tax credit is set to expire this year so if we don't finalize by 12.31.10 then we are out of luck with that.
Well, there is my update of random information, a few pickies below from our trip to NC! Hope you all had a lovely Valentines day, we celebrated last night and my hubby bought me a scarf I really wanted (that was only available with a band on tour), candy and a beautiful bouquet of flowers!
