I love Chicago! We have been before but this time we really got to enjoy the sights. Our friend works for Broadway in Chicago so we were able to go see Jersey Boys (which I highly recommend) and we were in the Chicago Festival of Lights parade! We went to the top of the Sears Tower which was so cool, it was a bit hazy but you could still see quite far. They have these really neat clear box windows you can step out in and look down through the floor, it's madness to see the cars 103 stories below! I have posted a few pictures below. We walked the Magnificent Mile, went to Millennium Park, walked about 15 miles, had many wonderful meals and a lot of laughs!
We received a call from one of our agencies on Friday, she called at 11:15am. I didn't realize I had my phone with me so I missed the call, by the time I realized we had a voicemail it was after 7pm. I called her back Saturday morning and didn't get to speak to her until today, would you believe they had a "situation" and it was matched on Friday?!?!?!?!? It's crazy to me that we can get a call at 11:15am and at the end of the day they already have the birth mother matched with another family. I beat myself up all day, I am of course thrilled for the other family out there but I am just baffled that we missed the chance at being presented b/c we didn't call back right away. Wow. Anyway, it's nice to receive calls and I am trying not to dwell on it.
I wish you all a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!

glad you had a great time in Chi-town, and glad to read a post from you again!! Great pics :) Was the "situation" a baby that had already been born?
Don't you love how they call them "situations", that has always felt odd to me. NO the baby was due in March! I just couldn't believe they would call us and give us no time to get back to them. I feel like I need to have my cell phone taped to my face on auto answer ;) Happy Thanksgiving!
i'm surprised that couple was making a decision like in those 30 minutes! huh
hope you have a great Thanksgiving too :)
