Thankful

Well folks we received all of our post-placement paperwork yesterday, loved the sweetest words at the end that recommend the adoption be finalized as soon as possible!  Our court date is scheduled for December 27th, just over a month now and she will legally forever be ours.  She has been ours from the moment I looked at her sweet little face but to get the phone call that the judge has signed off on it will be the best Christmas present ever!

Last weekend we took Juniper to meet Santa, she wasn't too sure about the old guy but she kept her cool ;)  We are excited to enjoy a relaxing Thanksgiving at home, we have a friend travelling from New York to share it with us.   Looking forward to good food, friendship and laughter!

I can't begin to list all I am thankful for, usually this time of year is tough to focus on the positive and what I am thankful for when it's the anniversary of my Mums death.  I do know though that I miss her more than ever now that I have a little one in my life.  I would have loved her to meet our sweet girl and I know without a shadow of a doubt that she sure would have adored our little Juniper.  While I miss my Mum I am thankful for all the other women in my life that have been here for us to support us and give us the best advice!

I am thankful for adoption, for the unbelievable blessing we have been given to be Junipers parents.  I am thankful that she is the sweetest and most lovingly adorable baby girl I have ever met (I may be biased).  I am thankful that she laughs from deep in her belly, that she smiles when she sees me, that she touches my should when her Daddy is holding her.  I am thankful that she has the cutest two little teeth poking through her gums, I am thankful that she loves peas and squash and even rice cereal!  I am thankful that in the morning when I wake up I hear her entertaining herself in her crib, I am thankful that she is my daughter and that I am her Mum.  I am thankful for the most supportive husband.  I am thankful that he has stood beside me while my faith wavered while we waited for our little bug, I am thankful that he is always there at the end of the day with a warm smile and a hug.  I am thankful that he can make me laugh when I am sad and I am thankful that he puts up with me!  I am thankful for three amazing sisters, each one unique and important in my life in their own way.  I am thankful they are here for support and advice when we need it, I am thankful that they too can make me laugh at the drop of a hat and that they are there no matter what.  I am thankful for a loving father and step-mother, wonderful warm and always there for us Auntie Stella and Uncle Jack and an amazing in-law family.  I am thankful for friends that don't understand me but support me anyway!  I am thankful for a stable job and a home to live in.  I am thankful for an open fire, food on the table and chocolate!  I am thankful for dancing, laughing and singing.  All of which can change a mood in an instant.  I am thankful for my life, I am overwhelmed with joy as I think about each and every person in it.  While I cannot even begin to list everything I am thankful for these are just a few.  Most of all I am thankful that God loves me no matter what and that he has blessed me and my family beyond measure.

Happy Turkey Day everyone!
